RICCOBONI CELEBRATES ITS 60TH BIRTHDAY AT ECOMONDO, SHOWING THE “LE RADICI DEL FUTURO” DOCUFILM AND COLLECTING AN AWARD ESTABLISHED BY THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION

Ecomondo 2024 was a special occasion for Riccoboni Holding as it celebrated its 60th birthday both at its large stand in the trade show sector dedicated to “reclamation and hydrogeological risk”, but also at an event held away from this exhibition at Teatro Amintore Galli in Rimini, where a docufilm was shown called “Le Radici del Futuro” [The Roots of the Future]

“Riccoboni’s roots of the future started in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines in 1964 as a small road construction business”, recalled an emotional Angelo Riccoboni, the President and CEO of Riccoboni Holding. “Already in the mid-1970s, my father Ernesto Riccoboni, the founder, had started to look at the environmental management sector, still in its infancy back then in Italy, developing and offering the very first mobile systems for treating used drilling mud. In recent years, the Riccoboni Group has proven it can improve its economic performance, firmly consolidating the family asset to guarantee a development pathway where it establishes itself as a leading company in the circular economy system”.

Riccoboni’s 60 years of experience led to a special moment at the “Sustainable Development Award” ceremony promoted by the Sustainable Development Foundation, and its President Edo Ronchi presented Angelo Riccoboni with an award, recognising the company’s strong focus on developing the green transition.

The Ecomondo event also allowed the Riccoboni Group to present its third Sustainability Report to its clients and stakeholders. This Sustainability Report shows the consolidation of the path undertaken in terms of a solid commitment to achieving sustainable development goals. The 2023 Report shows an increase in turnover of 18% compared with last year, with falls of 11% in CO2 emissions, 30% in water consumption and 20% in electricity consumption. As turnover increased, employee numbers also grew by 12% and the economic value distributed across the region rose by 12% with initiatives linked to the world of sport and healthcare research.

“This report transparently shows the responsibility we feel and put into practice every day to our people, the companies in the Group’s value chain, as well as the institutions and communities where we operate”, explained Angelo Riccoboni. “We consider drafting the report as an integral part of the commitment we put into our work and a job that allows us to see how much good we are already doing, how much we have improved from last year and where we can still improve. The goals we have set ourselves are challenging but pragmatic”.
