The area of southern Piedmont known as the “Novese” boasts a long tradition of cycling, largely centred on the memory of two great champions: Fausto Coppi and Costante Girardengo.
Last 25–26 November, the Alessandria-province town of Gavi was the location chosen by the Riccoboni Group to hold its two-day 2023 Corporate Programme seminar, which involved the senior management under the CEO’s direction.
The meeting was concluded with half a day of team building that celebrated this peculiar vocation of the area. To practice how to team-play, the group of managers were asked to assemble twenty-two tricycles, scooters and balance bikes (bicycles without pedals to teach basic coordination skills) for kids 1 to 6 years of age.
The mobility devices were then donated to the “RaglioDiLuna” farmhouse nursery for children aged 3 to 36 months, and to the state nurseries of Predosa and Sezzadio, part of the G. Pochettino unified institute, which cater to children aged 3 to 6 years.
“During our team-building event,” commented Angelo Riccoboni, CEO of Riccoboni Holding, “we focused on the concept that goals are not achieved by working alone; cooperation between individuals is what makes the difference. Nursery schools are where the growth journey based on values like respect, collaboration and critical thinking, which are essential for being in relationship with one another, begins so we extend our thanks to the schools that accepted our gift in support of their educational role. We chose them because we believe it is our collective responsibility to support the growth of the next generations.”
The initiative was developed as part of the corporate social responsibility activities under the Riccoboni New Generation project, through which the Riccoboni Group acts to generate a positive impact in the communities it is a part of. And who knows... they might even be introducing the sport to the next generation of Novese-area champions!
